Genichiro and Pichu, as a collectible figure
A personal project to keep developing my sculpting, modeling and texturing with established characters: Genichiro, the antagonist of Sekiro, and Pichu from Pokémon.

01
References
I studied how he looks in the game. I started with Genichiro and added Pichu as a nod to his lightning skill: both hurt themselves when they use electric attacks.
02
Base sculpt
I blocked out the shapes and refined them in Blender. Getting a face that was stylized yet recognizable was the challenge: the game is fast third-person combat and there are few clear references.
03
Retopology
I did the head by hand and the body with Quad Remesher. I wasn’t planning to animate him, so this was enough to pose him as a collectible figure.
04
Hair, clothing and weapons
I simplified his clothes for a stylized version, the way Fortnite does with characters from other franchises. The hair is beveled curves; I also modeled the katana and the great bow.
05
Texturing
I hand-painted the skin, the scar and the shading. The clothes use procedural materials, and the weapons mix procedural and BlenderKit textures.
06
Adding Pichu
Along the way I decided to add Pichu: the same process, hand-painted textures and a simple rig to pose him next to Genichiro.
07
Rigging and posing
I rigged Genichiro with Rigify; the katana follows his hand with a Child Of constraint. Both ended up on a base, like an action figure.
